Skating through life

Having been living in London for a couple of months, I began looking for subjects to photograph, subjects that I was genuinely interested in. I always had a fascination with the talents that we are able to harness and exhibit to society around us wether we choose to recognise or not. So I went out searching for anything that really impressed me and found a variety of individuals displaying their talent with absolute creative freedom and respect for each other. We were all strangers supporting and admiring each other's abilities, no feeling of being unwelcome. Although this is the first time I have shown these photographs, they were the first images I really felt I was documenting just raw talent at it's greatest. Each individual in each photograph has their own way of expressing themselves. These are film photographs which I developed, and hope you enjoy.

The Adventure continues

Well it's official, I have moved back to my beloved country, home, Zimbabwe and it's the most peaceful feeling I have had in a long time. The change in pace has allowed me to reflect on my past experiences. I had ups and downs, some I could swallow and let go but others just hit me out of nowhere. Friends: to me they are the most important extension of the self, they are the special individuals that nourish your soul and enable you to try understand and give to others. But the most important thing to learn is that some people you may call friends may turn out to not be the people you thought they were. But hey fuck it, life will hit you with so many punches, and you just have find the strength to give it one big upper cut!! Plus what goes around comes around ten times harder!

It is now time to continue with my adventures in life. I have had the most insightful week since returning back home. I have met gallery curators, Art directors, choreographers, and fellow photographers, as well as activists determined to enlighten the Zimbabwean mind as well as empowering the people of Zimbabwe through several NGO work. I have a really good feeling for the future, and it's only going to get more exciting!

In terms of my photography, I am currently in transition, I am planning the construction of my first personal darkroom, and will be out in the field for the next two years documenting the country and continent I live in. By getting access to different social groups I will be able to document their stories, hopes and essence of Zimbabwe 'The People'. It is going to be a long road, but I am so ready to continue on my journey, watch this space for new photographs and social updates on what's going on in Zimbabwe, at this critical moment in our history!

So despite the many ups and downs, I have discovered that it was all for a reason, to remind me that my time is way too valuable to waste on individuals that have no time for me. Peace out :)
